  My fiance is currently employed with Summit Square, and I will refer to her as Jane to prevent any repercussions because of this review. They have recently laid off a number of people, which has strained the employees, and undoubtedly affected the care provided to the residents. The reason for this review is how they have treated my fiance for being ill. Since the layoffs, they have instituted a no call-in policy, which states that employees cannot call in for any reason, even for being sick with a doctor's note. If they do so, they will face disciplinary action. Jane has been sick a few times within the past month or two, and has had a doctor's note each time. This last time, she was out for three days with the flu, according to the doctor. Upon returning to work, she was grilled by management for missing time, and her job was threatened. Jane works on the Healthcare floor, and everyday is in close-quarters with elderly residents who already have lowered immune systems. If she came to work with the flu and gave it to a resident, they could very possibly die from it. Management has made it very obvious that they expect employees to come to work no matter what, even if they are sick with the flu or any other serious illness. They are disregarding the health of their employees and more importantly, the elderly residents. I just wanted to make potential residents of Summit Square aware of their policies and procedures, and how they operate on a daily basis. They obviously do not care about the things that are important.
